They have gone around the world
Living Hollywood style is not for everyone. With very demanding social engagements such as movie premieres, parties, photo shoots, and paparazzi, many stars like Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Nicole Kidman, and more have decided to leave Los Angeles to be at peace.
When Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky decided to have children, they returned to Australia where the Thor actor was born. And is that he pointed out that the family found Los Angeles “suffocating” and that was not how he wanted his children to grow up.
“I love what I do as an actor, but when you’re constantly surrounded by that, it gets a little suffocating. We were living shoulder-to-shoulder in the suburbs and we think that’s not how we want our kids to grow up. to a sort of farm facility here on the coast of Australia has been the best thing,” Chris told Modern Luxury.
When Mark Ruffalo rose to fame, he decided not to stay in California. Mark and his wife packed up and headed to upstate New York in search of a more rural lifestyle, away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. Since the late 1990s, the couple has lived in Callicoon, New York, where they can raise their children out of the spotlight.
“No matter where I was in the world, this is what I called home,” Ruffalo said. “This has been an excellent community with a balance of locals and newcomers that I always found welcoming. The people in this community are good people, and I think the place has held up well. Here, I am no better or worse than the next guy. It doesn’t matter if I’m an actor or not. I appreciate that kind of respect.”
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, originally from Australia, opted to make the United States their home base, deciding to move to Nashville, Tennessee, instead of Los Angeles.
Nicole says she is grateful to be able to walk around and shop without the paparazzi bothering her.
“It feels like a normal life, which is what I wanted. I’ve always said I love the drama and creating a role and a performance and what comes with that, but I also love the life I have. So I like the routine of family and breakfast and dinner together. I don’t need much. I don’t need to go out at night. I’m a bit of a homebody, so I’m totally fine with living in the South and having a very simple life,” Nicole said in The Queen Latifah Show.
